    hi all

I know that this subject has been discussed thousands of time, but...
Currently I´m playing BG2 and not TOB, and I don´t want too many informations about the gameplay in TOB! I just want a list with some of the best weapons in TOB and most important, what classes they are! IE, are there any good longswords or katanas?? I have heard about a really cool helbard and some nice bastard swords, is this correct??

hope you can help me out on this subject

Ps. I want to know where to spent my proficiency slots before importing my caracters from SOA to TOB, thats why this redicolous subject is brought up again

Halberds, Two-handed swords and axes are three very good places to place proficiences. There really are good weapons in all sorts but the dominance of longswords ends a little bit in ToB.

There is a very good +5 bastard sword (after being upgraded) cast Larlochs Minor Drain on each hit, gives +5 (or +6, can't remember) bonus damage to outsiders (Demons, devils, etc.) and undead. Very good.

Two of my favourite weapons were an axe and a halberd.

There is also one very good +6 spear in the game, but I definetely would recommend to spend proficency slots on halberds, bastard swords and two-handed swords(I just like two handed and one and half handed weapons).

IMO the best weapon depends on your char: For fighter chars I was perfectly happy with namarra, flamethongue and the flail of the ages - you can deal with any enemy then. For thiefs I like to use shortswords and daggers and the tuigan bow - daggers are especially well suited for backstabbing due to their neat extra effects. Longbows are best for archers and staffs are formidable weapons for kensais. Darts are fabulous for thiefs and mages and a sling in the hands of a fighter is awesome. Halberds are very effective and there are some great axes, maces, clubs, spears, katanas, bastard- and two handed swords around. Missed a category - anyway - there are good weapons in every category.

Scimitars! They're even better when you dual wield them! Another nice thing is that druids can use them, meaning you could make an half-elven fighter/druid and have him dual wield Scimitars, wear full plate, and STILL cast spells. Very good Priest, only reason I haven't made one myself is because Jaheria is so kick ass.

Scimitars, upgraded katana(perminent deathward), two handed swords. still, none of them come close to celestial fury and carsomyr.

[IMG] Silly powergamers. Don't you get it? an absence of power is the best, charge a dragon with no armour, magic, potions, weapons (and not being a monk) then knock it unconcious with your fists. If you die your legend will be forevered remember.
