Does anyone know of a way to prevent the Beregost armor smith from refusing to accept more than one shell? (mod or not)

Playing BG1 - TuTu easy, with no additional mods that I'm aware of.

    -rant-

i understand that before TuTu, it was considered a game exploit to sell him more than one shell, but i think it should be re-enabled.

here's my reasoning, you can clear out the entire wooded areas South & East of Friendly Arms Inn, you might get 6-9 bandit scalps for the entire area. that still doesn't give you 500 gold.

whereas you can go north of FAI & fight 4-6 Ankhegs & get 500 a pop for their shells, *if* you're willing to risk the permanent death of your characters, a fairly tough fight, AND can work around the 100 lbs of encumbrance. i just think it makes sense from a risk vs rewards standpoint & it is much more convenient.

if you want to get into the "logic" of it, it makes sense anyway, since iron is rotting & worthless, he wouldn't spend his time making full plates that will rot, because nobody would spend that much money on something that will rot & be worthless in less than a month. Even if he had to work harder to make Ankheg armor AND sell it for alot cheaper than he normally would, at least it would give him work, and people would be happy to have the upgraded plate.

I'm willing to accept that for game balancing purposes he will only make one plate of armor & there are two total in the game. I'm okay with that. However, until the crisis is resolved & at LEAST until i can enter BG (i'm still on chapter three ATM) and could sell them for half price, he should be buying any shells i put in front of him.

    -end rant-

    ****edit****

PS - also willing to accept a mod/trainer that will simply allow me to add 500 gold to my party's funds, and i can simply lug them to beregost & drop them on the ground in the smith's shop. That would be acceptable as well, if anyone knows of a way to do that.

Ehh I don't know such a mod. But you can always use ShadowKeeper to edit your save games, and your party's gold funds, among well, most every other things. :p Or use the in game cheat 'AddGold' from the console. Easier. :p
