    [IMG] First things first, Hi
I'm new, but I've been here reading around here a while.

Now on to business. I (attempt to) mod my games (Mainly BG2), so far I have done nothing really complex, mostly I try to make items that are not over powered but are useful (think the Tansheron's Bow not the most powerful but no need for arrows is rather useful) but now I want to move on to spells as well, taking slow steps to becoming a useful all-rounder. The only problem is I have no idea how to do it! Are there any programs that allow this to be done easily or will it be more complex? Are there any good tutorials? I have checked with Google and have found nothing of interest.

A while back I had an idea for a dialogue and item mod that would allow for the crafting of weapons and armo(u)r similar to the way Neverwinter Nights handled it, through dialogue. From what I remember you would:

    * Initiate Dialogue through either a special ability or through an item like the talking sword, Lilacor
    * You would select the Item you wished to make from a list in the dialogue box
    * It would remove the components applicable (and some money, probably approx. 1/3 - 1/2 of the total cost of the item as, from what I understand, the PnP game handles it)
    * It would then check your attributes, from what I remember it was Strength for brute work like armor and dexterity for jewelry and then combinations for other more complex such as Elven Chain. (Levels may also have played a part, but I am unsure. This level bonus system would allow those focusing on other attributes to still be able to craft items although later on in the game)
*If you passed the check, you would get the item, if not, you didn't and also lost the components

Whether using existing items as components or adding new one I am unsure.
It was on a forum but I don't know which one. Has anyone found, seen or heard of anyone making this modification? Was it cancelled? If so, is anyone interested in making it? I would be happy to help as much as I can:)

    Thanks in Advance
