Well, I'm sory if the anwser to my question is on forums somewhere, but I did search and I found nothing at all. Also sory if this is the wrong section for this kind of question, but it was the only one that seems alright for this.

The thing is, that I have windows7 32 bit installed, and I just installed BG2. It runs perfectly but when i want to equip any Katana on any character it just dies - "program stopped working...".
Also when i turn off "use hardware 3d" option, I can equip katana but the game does not run smoothly :bad: freezes for 1 second every 3-4 seconds grr.

any1 had similar issue or know how to fix the problem?

Do you have any mods installed? I've never had issues with Katanas. I've played BG2 on Win 7 32 bit and 64 bit without issues.

    nope, clean installation.
anyway, I installed it on W7 64 bit [my laptop] and supriseingly it works fine, tho i have this issue with "you can not talk to [him/her]. She/he does something else" but this can be solved with new patch I belive.

still have no idea why this doesnt work on my normal PC with w7 32 bit.

Have you tried updating your video card drivers? (I mean, if it works with 3d hardware acceleration, but not without, it's probably a video card issue)

well that's what I thought, but srsly it's Radeon x1950xtx... I know it's 2/3 years old but c'mon how old is BG. I've played it on GeForce MX400 lol. so it should run perfectly now with the oldest drivers.

anyway, drivers updated - no change, i wonder if the card is fine, but 3dmax doesn't show any errors :/

That's quite a wrong assumption :) It might very well be that BG expects a certain interface that isn't offered by any version of the video card.

Anyways, next step: are you running it in compatibility mode?
