    Has anyone ever bothered to sit down and work out how to play BG2 multiplayer? (And i dont mean the trick of having several PC's....) I cant help but think playing online would be cool. Anyone got advice?

    Sure. What problem are you encountering, and describe your set up?

    I play BG2 multiplayer online. There are several common connection problems that can be fixed, depending on your network setup.

    The problem is that i dont know how it works. What i want to do is play against mates without having to set up a LAN or whatever. Talk me through the process in idiot language.

    IIRC, you can set up a private game of sorts by having them connect to your IP address. (or having everyone connect to the IP of whoever would be hosting the game)


    I can't remember how exactly to do this, sorry. Hopefully someone else can help better than I.

    Oh. Boy. I don't feel like typing a guide to every step of the way. But I will be glad to help you if you try it and encounter a specific problem.

    The short guide is:

    You get your IP address. Create Game in Multiplayer TCP/IP mode. Tell your friends what your IP is. Tell them to Join Game on your IP.

    I've played it online through MSN Messenger. Go onto it, enter a chat with your mates then find the play game option. If you've all got it installed on your comp, with the same patch you can play together.

    thats how The Kilted Crsader and I did it, shame we only made it half-way through the first level of Irenicus's Dungeon before giving up and forgetting about it :p

    Being able to create games both players have to have the same frame speed which is in the configuration settings
