i can garantee there will be no baldurs gate 3 with this same story, its possible they will make a new story and start a new saga, but i think they would name it something else. another facter here is, didnt i read somewhere that someone lost their licenses to make AD&D products? that would be a major factor...

[IMG] Nah, they're still good to make (a)d&d games to around 2005. But the Baldur's Gate saga ends with the expansion, Throne of Bhaal.
Check out my ToB features list, it was just updated: http://www.sorcerers.net/Games/BG2/tob_features.php
Also check the official FAQ in the Tips, Tricks & Hints section if you think you need even more enlightment.

    Deck of Many Things

One of the uber-cool new items is the Deck of Many Things. Each card in this deck is a metallic plate, each adorned with a distinct portrait of its own. The card shimmers with power, and while each Deck of Many Things is different, all legends agree that this kind of artifact holds great power and is not to be used lightly.

The exact contents and powers of the deck cannot be known unless the cards are drawn... but once drawn, the effect on the user is irreversible. Supposedly, a Deck of Many Things can only be used so many times until it disappears and moves elsewhere in the multiverse... for what reason, no one knows.

Well obviously, it is a deck of cards, an item you can find in the game. Each time you draw a card, a random effect occurs. Sometimes good, sometimes bad. Exactly like the machine of Lum the Mad. I don't know what you don't understand here?
    It's pretty straightforward.

In my AD&D experience, a deck of many things is what the DM gave the party when he didn't have a solid campaign worked up.

You'd draw a card, and suddenly have a pit-fiend (or Demogorgon :eek :) trying to hunt you down!!! Another card would give you a castle. A third would imprison someone in your party, and you'd have to hunt them down.

Its kind of like playing Russian Roulette with a Wand of Wonder. Not for the feign hearted!

Huh? Is this deck of card thing in BG2 or IWD? I never heard of it B4. Or is just in AD&D in general?

[IMG] It's gonna be in ToB I think. It's alright with me If they stop the BG saga, as long as they produce others with just as interesting characters and story plots. I enjoy playing these games not only because of the gameplay and ad&d rules but since I read the books It kinda seems kewl that I'm playing games with familiar names and places... maybe it's just me but I think it's kewl.

It's going to be in Throne of Bhaal. Go read my Throne of Bhaal features list. Or better yet, read this whole topic again, it'll make sense then.
