I play both BG2 and D2. As the 2 expansions are releasing, which you might play first?

Bhaal ofcourse. I just don't like the hack&slash D2. If I'm gonna buy D2's expansion it'll be coz of the great MPlayer.

Lord of Destruction comes out earlier than Throne of Bhaal.

TOB, defienetly... (damn i need to stop spending allowance and save up  )

  6. I'm going to be playing both heavily... I love both games and have put countless hours into each one.
Diablo is more of a casual experience though, you can jump in and play a game for 10 or 15 minutes, or for hours. BG2 isn't an in and out game, its more complex and requires a lot more thought and careful strategy.

Maybe I'm just litigation minded as I start law school this year, but it would seem to me that an arch villian/general bad guy with such similar names in such hotly competitive games might give some pause for concern amongst the producers of these games. Unless there is some Norse god Bhaal from whose mythology these games collectively borrow how is it that they have such similar names? Doesn't seem likely that it was an accident, or is it? Any ideas?

I think Bioware would have the upper hand, WoTC used "Bhaal" in the 1e, did they not? And that was 20 some years ago, Blizzard has not been making Diablo games that long.

And, for the record, ToB was released before LoD. If LoD follows in D2's footsteps, it will be unplayable in D3D mode, horribly buggy, have terrible voice acting and a predictable ending.

Baal, of course, an ancient Phoenician god. The modern respelling Bhaal is due to a facelift he got this century... I gather he was feeling antiquated and needed a change.
