    This is awesome. Not that I condone or am happy about animal testing, but still - this is a very cool breakthrough I think. Kind of like when Luke Skywalker got that robotic hand thing. Robot limbs controlled by your mind like regular limbs!

    I know that if I keep praying one day technology will allow masterbation to feel like someone else is doing it.

    @Thinker: Try sitting on your arm until you get the pins-and-needles sensation, then do it, I've heard that works ;)

    :shake: "Heard?" Never tried? :shake:

    As to the topic, that is nothing new, actually. This kind of development has been done from the early 60's, and thus far no real results has been gained. At least, not in mass-production.

    Also, think it this way: if a monkey could control an arm simply by thought, and like stated in your quote;

    ...then why couldn't the monkey control people too?

    The device would only control that which is designed to be controlled by it. NO one would be stupid enough to let the devices control one another. What effect would that have anyway, it allows for feedback information but nothing else.

    @Thinker...

    Just smoke a ****-load of weed, then do it. :D

    As to the topic of monkeys with robotic arms: When are they going to make a supersoldier that can be controlled remotely so that 50 years down the road people can stop dying in silly skirmishes. Oh, wait, that's not on the topic of Monkey arms. Well, a different kind of arms, and it seems monkeys are driving them, and they are robotic. I guess it was on topic! :D

    Seriously though. Why do monkeys need robotic arms? Why don't some of those damn scient(olig)ists think the damn game!

    While the whole sitting on the hand thing sounds good in theory...in practice I imagine the pins-and-needles feeling would cut down on the general yankin' goodness. A shame, really...

    Yeah. You'd have to tape your hand on or something then use your other hand to move your taped arm. confusing. :confused:
