I have not played TOB but want to know if many foes in TOB are imune to +3 weapons like blackrazor. I like it very much but fear that it may not work well in TOB as it is only +3 but there are many + higher weapoms in TOB.

There is one enemy that is totally immune to any magic weapons (and all magic, for that matter) and there is one enemy that is totally immune to normal weapons, but will constantly cast protection from magical weapons every chance she can. Other than that, I can't think of anything. Not sure if it helps you any.

Which means that +3 weapon like blackrazor will still work wonders in TOB am I right? Which also means that there will not be too many enemies in TOB that needs +4 or above to hit them? Thanks for your comment.

    Skywind,

There's at least two foes that I can think of who won't be touched by +3 weapons.

    Demogorgon (+5).

    The Demi-Lich (+4) in Watcher's Keep.

I'm unsure regarding the Elemental Princes though. Perhaps somebody else could answer that.

For magic golems, you must use regular weapons. Also IIRC if you try to cast spells on them, that actually heals them.

The monster that is totally immune to normal weapons and seems to cast an inexhaustable amount of protection from magic weapons spells is the 6-armed 1/2 woman, 1/2 snake creature (I forget what its called).

Since I've only fought Demogorgon once, I forgot that he needs +5 weapons (can you say Carsomyr?)

What demi-lich is in Watchers Keep?

The six-armed snake thingy is a tan'narri called a Marileth.

    The Demi-lich -

The level that has the Machine of Lum the Mad on it. Make your way to the area inhabited by the Githyanki. Now make your way to the south corner.
There will be an east door with a dragon's head on it, which will clue you to Saladrex being on the other side. To the west side of this corner is a harder to find door that leads to the Demi-lich.

    She's Marilith not Marileth ;)
And AFAIK they are not immune up to +3 at all. They just like to cast stoneskin and protection from magical weapons.

And i can add another immune to +3 or worse: Ravager.
The final test in the pockep plane.

Otherwise there arent any more +3 or less immune monsters.
I soloed with a Shapeshifter in greater werewolf form which claws are considered +3. He had no problems whatsoever except at those monsters listed here.

For as many times as I've played, I never knew about this demi-lich. Gonna have to give it a look. Thanks! :thumb:

If you read the book that Elminster wrote about the various monsters found in ToB (this book is found nearly everywhere in ToB), I believe it tells you that it is immune to normal weapons and has a penchant for casting protection from magic weapons.

Thanks alot for all your comments. I am now still playing a swashbuckler/mage after only completing BG2 once with a archer. But I always think further a head so I now want to prepare my swashbuckler/mage for TOB although I have not play it yet. When I finally have TOB, I will complete with my archer first then next I will complete with my swashbuckler/mage.
