In the year of our Lord two-thousand-and-three, our noble Flooder-Paladin invited us to travel with him to the remoted Island of Taluntain.
Yet again, we will set sail for a swashbuckling adventure to BTA, better known as Blackthorne's Treasure Ayeland.
Just like the first time, you are allowed to find a crew consisting of 6 fellow SP'ers. Stowaways are not allowed, so keep the number to 6 (six). Please tell why you have certain members in your crew.

Faragon: Humor, 'luck' with women, witty comments.
Foradasthar: Read his posts more carefully last times and I often share his opinion.
Death Rabbit: Often makes me laugh, and can come up with interesting stuff.
Mathetais: Preacher-boy.
Uytuun: Vloamse Meskes (Flemmish Girls) can be interesting when they have fun.
Dark Haired Beauty: She's got dark hair, seemingly a beauty and a keeper of the faith.

As cargo: Splunge, Morgoth, Spellbound, Jaguar.

Trim the sails and roam the seas!

 

Big Bald Ranger: Team SPAM's resident pain in the butt.

Supercle: Team SPAM's resident... er.. what do you do?

Kilted Crusader: He has a kilt, very useful if the sails get ripped.

Firey: Especially useful in times we need to make a nun blush.

Rallymama: Well... who wouldnt want a cast iron skillet, and premiere chef?

Dark Goddess: Well, someone has to help me with my make-up. I dont see BBR being very helpful in that instance.

Arrr! we be makin' fer treasure Ayeland.

Anyway, only 6? Hmm, it isn’t gonna be easy narrowing things down:

dmc – so I won’t feel so old
Grey Magistrate – every ship needs an intellectual, even a conservative one
Hacken Slash – to keep Grey company
Death Rabbit – funny bunny, and to keep Grey and HS in line
Harbourboy – I like his New Zealand accent
Rallymama – every ship needs a wench, even an older one

Plus well over a dozen perfectly suitable alternatives if any of the above can’t make it.

 

Rotku: I need someone I know that I can play RPGs with.
Morsmodre: Hey, someone gotta play football with me now and then.
Death Rabbit: If it gets cold, his fur can heat us up.
Splunge and Rallymama: Need someone old(-er rather) to keep me in track.
The last spot is free, so begin your suck-ups now.

The reason I don't take any Swedes with me is because I like to curse at people in languages they don't understand.

 

Sorvo - we may need some of his rum to start a signal fire...

Spellbound - We need some sort of authority, but someone who can be cool at the same time.

Deathmage - we need someone to keep Spellbound busy while everyone else is being good

Mathetais - when the plauge hits, we'll need someone on god's side.

Slith - to do all the stuff no one else wants to so...digging, cleaning, cooking...you know, that kind of stuff.

Elios - every crew needs a bard that always has something to say.

 

Splunge - he talks the same language as me
Sorvo - always willing to go down into the hold for a beer-run
Deathmage - can turn the sailing ship into an *air* ship
Rotku - to climb the mast and do all the dangerous work
Rallymama - to keep the kids (i.e. Splunge) under control
Harbourboy - bit silly if I don't take myself along (although the trip is bound to be a disaster so maybe I should just stay home)

 

Takara - cannot get enough of that Turnip Stew
Splunge - for when we get enough of that Turnip Stew
Deathmage - In case we need a new anchor
8people - Somebody to cast the anchor
Harbourboy - Hey, with 'harbour' in his name, he has to know something about ships right?
Dark Haired Beauty - Secondary optimist, in case I look at who my crew is

 

Kilted Crusader: Hey i need someone i know i can trust
Arabwel: The amount of times she's watched Pirates of the Caribean, i would hope she could sail
Rallymama: Need someone to cook and keep order
Jaguar: He can keep our morale up wit the never ending smile...
Takara: Need the turnips for cooking, and to provide entairtainment when fighting with Kilted Crusader
Octara: To stab Kilted Crusader and Takara when they take it to far...

 

Rallymama: keep everyone under control
Takara: for his turnip beer... can't sail without it
Hugo: In case pirates demand a slave...
Octara: ...or two...
Kilted Crusader: why not?
Harbourboy: he's a boy of the harbour! of course hes part of the crew!

 

Dalveen: May as well, he's my mate after all .
Tak: For what he calls his "apparent wit". Ha!
Firey: My looks are far better when I stand next to him .
Oc: I'll be able to get back at her for stabbing me so much...
Laiwethel: Will hopefully stop Oc from stabbing me whe I try to get revenge.
Rally: Had a space left

 

Only six!! Only six?!?!?! Geez... this is hard...


Sorvo - Because you've gotta have a drinking buddy...
Spellbound - So we can "gang up" on Deathmage...
Rallymama - Because sometimes, even I get tired of my own cooking...
Death Rabbit - Someone to curse and make ridiculous analogies with...
Deathmage - Because he's just so kickable!
Takara - Because every good party needs a gnome...


*Note - this took me about half an hour to compile - lots of decisions (and bad jokes) to make - you just can't take something like this too... errr... lightly!

 

Hmmmm....Damn this is hard. It'll be hard for this not to come off as a popularity contest, but here goes...

Splunge - he reminds me of Mr. Smee from Peter Pan
Master of Nuhn - I need a co-captain...who better than my twin?
Grey Magistrate - he can swab my poopdeck
Falstaff - I could make a butt-pirate joke, but it's too easy
Reepnorp - We need a little sh*t like him to scurry up to the crow's nest
Sir Belly - Have you seen his pic? Homeboy could've been BORN on a pirate ship.

As Cargo: Pop Tarts, Corona, deck of cards, fuzzy dice for the mast, sign on the back of the boat that says "Eat My Wake," and a monkey.

I agree and from now on I, Apeman the first officially stands candidate for the position of ship's monkey!

Sydax: the crew's singer, with his unlimited selection of obscure songs
JSBB: the crew's storyteller, with his unlimited selection of B movie plots
Aldazar: I need a fellow comic geek to reminisce with
Kilted Crusader: I have great faith in men who wear skirts, err, kilts (Hector from Troy and Duncan Mcleod of the Clan Mcleod)
HARBOURboy: yes, this is a weak pun
Takara: Every crew needs a serf

 

Chev: Important to have someone who can barter and can trust to divide the treasure equally

Sorvo: Who better to find out local lore in a tavern.

Wirhe: Every ship needs someone who can get things no questions asked.

Tal: Keeper of all adventure records and advanced scout. Everyone knows when SP is in trouble the man never sleeps.

Master of Nuhn: Healing is important. Plus someone to argue with Chev over what is morally right. Plus he likes Jazz music and pirate songs get old really quick.

Deathmage: Someone to row when there is no wind. Someone to put ashore when we need to know if the cannibals are friendly.

 

Hmm... tough, tough...
Let's see... There'd be
Takara: because turnips are good. And he's a Team SPAMmer!
Firey: because he's Firey, and I get the feeling he's great for partying, somehow!
Octara: Cute, stabbulating, British... what's there not to love
Rallymama: well... one look at *her* menu's says it all.
Chevalier: because I'm a compulsive arguer, and he'd last pretty long before growing critically annoyed, I think.
Tiamat: because Greek food is good. And she's cute too.

EDIT: In the luggage: a couple of solar cells, a *big* stereo soundset, some Ayreon CD's, some more metal assorti CD's... lot's of booze, a fridgelet, and something to wire it all together.
Possibly some Dutch Green in case I get terminally bored. And a mammoth freighter of smokes, to make sure I don't die within hours of departure.

 

Hired! First order of business: train you to throw poo at Chev. One banana per attempt, two per direct hit.

And throw him overboard when we need to lighten our load.
