Right, the Blindness/Deafness spell. Assuming you could only choose one at the time of casting, which of the two effects would you choose first?

Also if you cast Blindess on a Fighter who had the blind fighting feat it wouldn't make much difference would it?

Though what if we were to deafen him straight after?

Depends on the target. A mage or cleric I'd definetely want to deafen, for the disrupting of spells with vocal components. (iirc) Melee and archers I'd want to blind. If they have Blindfighting it is of less use iirc, but then again deafness on a fighter is near useless anyway. Just a tad more inconvenient after the battle.

My fighter was once deafened because the party rogue had a bad aim with his thunderstones. Was one hell of a time to roleplay :p

Some spells require sight of the target to be able to use it, hindering spellcasters further. Besides, a 20% spell failure isn't really impressive.

Blindness is very powerful (especial when NPCs use it, since it's permanent). Among the second-level spells, it's right up there with invisibility.

The way I generally work on Blindness is that if you cast it on a Spellcaster (and Wizards generally do suck at for saves :p ) the become blind yes?

Well if someone is blind, they can't really be throwing spells like magic missile at you as they would surely need to see you (initially) before whacking you with them.

In the cast of something like Fireball or Lightening Bolt ... well, they won't have a real clue where you are and would be throwing the spell randomly no?

They couldn't enchant you either ...could they?
