[IMG] I've been off with my regular BG game (rediscovered Imoen loses a weapon slot when I dualed her to a mage :grr: ), so I thought up a new idea. Here's the Boards o' Magic party!

    chevalier
    human
    Paladin
    LG
    S 15
    D 18
    C 16
    I 10
    W 14

    Beren
    halfelf
    Fighter/Druid

    (look familiar? ;) )

    Nakia
    halfling
    Fighter/Thief

I tried to make the stats fit how each person is (to me) on the fora. I picked the above 6 for a few reasons.

    1. I have their portrait avatars from d/l portrait packs. Tal has the elf wizard from before his red dragon of today and Beren has the blonde fighter guy instead of the Tiefling bard.

    2. Their alignment and class are obvious or they mentioned it themselves. Arabwel I'm not sure on, though she fits a F/M best.

    3. There wasn't a portrait of a marilith for me to be the Bhaalspawn, so Tal gets that, too.

Also, there are SPers I would like to play with (shuddup :p ), but either I didn't have their avatar/portrait or didn't know what class they would fit into. (Felinoid, Klorox, The Magpie - I do have a pic of Dakkon - Ofelix, etc.)

I'll keep an update here if anyone cares to read it. Mostly, it's fun to see the quoted messages popping up.

chevalier: I feel this is my rightful place.

[IMG] Um, is it too late to change some stuff? 'Cause I think maybe Tal should be a Conjuror for conjuring this whole place into being. Oh, and I noticed chev's weaker than both MoN and Nakia; are you trying to say something? But I don't think you'll hear any arguments about Beren. :shake:

P.S. Nakia seems spot on for when she was still in her adventuring days, because when you factor in age modifications, you get:

    STR 14
    DEX 17
    CON 16
    INT 11
    WIS 15
    CHA 10

Which might be a little low CHA-wise, but is otherwise pretty close. :thumb:

P.P.S. My double dual (Cleric 9 / Mage 13 / Bard x) wouldn't be allowed by the Infinity Engine, but could be pretty much approximated by Cleric 9 / Bard x. Just in case you're interested. ;)

Good stuff kuemper! :thumb: The only things I might change are either MoN - I don't know about character-wise, but the NWN portrait his avatar is based on is supposed to be a halfling (albeit a very elven-looking one) or chev's stats. All his pallys (according to his website and posts passim tend to have higher "mental" stats than "physical", so you may want to reflect this more. But 'tis up to you, after all. :)

Otherwise, all pretty well spot on (ooh, maybe higher CHA for Nakia? :hmm: ). Kudos to you, young marilith, kudos. :p
:whoa: Well, first let me say that I'm honoured to be mentioned! If you want to play with me (in-game ;) ) Thief-based & TN is probably best, ("Ooh! Shiny ones!" ) but I'll leave the rest up to you... It'd be interesting to see someone else's interpretation of me as an in-game companion... :hmm:

I played with chev's stats for an hour before settling on the 91 I'd saved. I wanted his Str to be decent without crippling him since he's the front man. I gave him a 14 Wis to compensate for his high mental faculties.

Tal as a diviner; here's my reasoning: He knows a lot of stuff. He 'senses' when things are happening (how many threads has he locked or moved before things got out of hand?). Conjurer would be a second choice, but I looked over those spells and the only ones that I find a use for are Melf's, Flame Arrow and Armor. Besides, he's got killer stats (95)!

MoN's pic is a halfling! In the pack I have, it's listed under the elves. Oh well, you live and learn. I read no one's saying much about Arabwel. :hmm:

How did Chev get such a high charisma score?? :p I think he should substitute some CHA for some INT. He seems to know an awful lot of stuff so I figure he is really well read.

Um, before? :shake: He's got lots of helpers too, like BTA and the rest, not to mention those of us who occasionally report something if it really crosses the line.

P.S. I think noone's saying anything about Ara for fear of angering her, but I'll risk it if you insist.

Ara's stats look good, but I always imagined her relishing a good backstab  ; perhaps an F/M/T with the dagger of Venom. :hmm: Say, that brings up an interesting question: What will they all be wielding? My ideas:

chev: Sword and Shield Pally all the way
    MoN: Blunt Weapons for Ashideena
Beren: As Jaheira, of course ;)
Nakia: Short sword for melee, sling for ranged; taken directly from both RPs where she played the character
Ara: Daggers (or just long fingernails if you really want to RP it)
Tal: Boots of Idiot Removal +5 :shake:

@HB - Oh yeah, drop that Charisma to 17 and put that one point in Int. :shake:

@Feli - Okay. How about this reason? Tal can 'sense' things about to happen using his divinations skillz. :p As for Ara, F/M/T fits her best, but with a six person party, I don't feel she'll be getting enough XP to keep her alive. She would make a great stabber  , but then I would need a secondary mage- oooo! idea time! Scythesong the Bard!!!

    Weapons:
    chev - large sword, bow
MoN - missile weapons, blunt weapons
Beren - small sword, missile weapons
Nakia - small sword, bow (I always forget about slings :o )
    Arabwel - large sword, bow
    Taluntain - missile weapons

Must go now and reroll the group!

 But Tal's your primary wizard, isn't he? And wouldn't Ara already be the secondary then?

 Confusion abounds. Sorry. I made Arabwel a F/T, not a F/M/T. I'm uneasy about one weapon slot. I've had NPCs die because they started punching enemies attacking them.

:aaa: NOOOOOOOOO!!! Bring back Nakia!
 You could turn Ara into the bard; she random babbles enough for it, and bards are the closest to F/M/Ts you can get without actually being an F/M/T. :nolike: You'd have to turn her half-elf though, and maybe Gatekeeper her back to elf. Her alignment could just be CN caught on a bad day. :D

P.S. I'd give chev Large Sword and Spiked Weapons for crushing damage on those pesky undead. If you really tank him like he deserves (with a shield :p and the Boots of Speed when you get them), he won't need a missile weapon. But that's just my opinion. ;)

    EDIT:
Bards of any of the six races (human, half-elf, elf, dwarf, gnome, and halfling) are allowed with the 2e Complete Bard's Handbook, so there's no real reason why she can't be an elven bard. I believe the Meistersinger kit would fit her best; Meistersingers sing for nature and the animals, anbd Ara does love her kitties.
(typo left in homage  )

I would think MoN would be a bard -- isn't his name the general description of a bard? Chev could easily be a cleric (LG priest of Helm).

You'll love this! I made it out of Candlekeep and Imoen talked to Tal. Ara talked Nakia into picking Immy's pockets. Then, we buried Gorion, per chev's request. This little thief and his mage friend proved to be evil (chev detected them ala Miko in OotS), so they ran away.

Plodding along, we ran into this old guy with a funny hat whom chev talked into oblivion. :pope: We followed the road until we found a sign for the FAI. Continuing onwards, we were ambushed by 8 bandits and their 4 pet worgs! :mommy:

MoN died. Ara died. Nakia died. Beren died. Tal died. Reload from start? :shake: It was all in good fun anyway. First time in years (since my first game via multiplayer) where I got totally owned on the first/second map change!

Did you select pink robes for Tal? Tal is much more effective while dressed in pink...

I second the "Bring Back Nakia" Campaign! ;)

kuemper - surely if you're playing multiplayer you can pause before going onto the inventory screens? So I think that FMT Ara would work, because you'd be able to pause & switch. It's what I did with my soloing FMT, because (as you correctly state) death can result for those with one slot otherwise. It's a question of compromise, really, and I believe that Nakia's position as elder stateswoman of SP demands her inclusion. And I'll second Fel's notes on proficiencys - chev should be a flail & sword user, not least because a certain item pack from a certain RPG site contains an item created by a certain birdie for a certain paladin that happens to be a spiky chained thing. ;)

Well, that and the :pope: smilie kinda looks like it's holding a flail... :p

Hey, I just happen to drop by and find some info on BG, which I just started to play and now I read this.
You guys flatter me! (Except for the fact that you let me die with all the others. :p )

I'd love to travel the world and fight off evil, but I would rather convert Ara before Chev makes her leave the party because of our reputation. :D

    About my char:
Pretty overpowered when compared with me, eh? I'm not strong. I'm surely not dexterious. But thanks! My aim is not bad, but my balance etc are.
I guess I'd be a NG halfelf. I don't have as many ambitions as most humans have. I'd probably be a cleric or a bard. But I don't play any musical instrument, but perhaps I have spend some ranks in poetry.
I'm a lousy fighter, but I sometimes hear some info that others would not.

More than enough about me. About Kuemper. I want you in the party. Describe yourself.

I would have Faragon in my party as a NG Dwarven Fighter/Cleric with surprisingly high dex (for a dwarf). The guy is tough, agile, quite strong and nows what happens around him (I would have made a cleric/monk if possible). Seeing his skills with sticks (Escrima), he'd get profs in blunt weapons for either quarterstaff or dualing clubs.
