[IMG] Big night of BG2 gaming last night! Killed the Shade and Elemental Liches for the Kangaxx body parts, handled those overconfident fools in the Twisted Rune for the Staff of the Magi, pounded Kangaxx into a smouldering lump of gold and capped it all off with the resounding defeat of the former holder of Imoen's soul!

Out of all of that, I found Bodhi and her Vampire lackeys the easiest. I had Valygar scouting (dual wielding the Equalizer and Celestial Fury) followed by Minsc with the Mace of Disruption +2 (no level drain and Vampire killer), Adjatha the Drinker (no domination), and the Ring of Regeneration, followed by my Archer with Azuredge, the Shield of Harmony and the Ring of Gaxx. The final confrontation with Bodhi was the three above plus Jaheira who's got the Amulet of Power... Was really a piece of cake! I found the first time through the Vampire lair tougher, but only because of that powerful mage Vampire...

[IMG] Whats cool about having an archer with an axe and a shield? arent they supposed to use missile weapons?

Azuredge is a missile weapon... It's a throwing axe that returns to your hand... and it's great against Vampires (save versus death or be destroyed)

Most of the time he uses Heartseeker, then switches to dual-wielding when in close combat, but he has no compunction about using an axe and shield if the situation calls for it! :)

See, the thing about Archers is that they can only be proficient in melee weapons, so I've got tons of proficiency points and nowhere to put 'em! :) My Archer's proficient in flails, axes, longbows(3 points), hammers, bastard swords, longswords, dual wielding (3 points), and probably some others! :D

Boo Ya??? Ummm, haven't heard of that one before! :) My first time through BG2 when I went to the Vampire lair I got 'level' drained to death. Fortunately I only had one frontline fighter up front and everyone else was 'air' support & heal/restoration support etc. At that time I didn't realize the power of the Mace (enhanced) of Disruption or the Amulet of power. But with the combination that you mentioned in your post I can see why things weren't 'too' difficult. Solid party there.

Nope, nope, nope... You've got that backwards... Equalizer single handed, Silver Vorpal Sword two handed...

Ahhhh, I must've missed out on that expression from Lilacor. Actually I only used that sword a few times in my first time through BG2. I suppose I was so 'fixated' on dual wielding proficiency and not 2 hand proficiency for everyone I never developed a character to use those any 2-H swords.

However, if I ever play another PURE Fighter who can actually get 5pts in 2-H swords and 3pts in the 2-H wielding proficiency I'll check out Lilacor, War Blades, Silver Swords and the like!
