Hello all:

I've finished most of Chapter 2 & 3. I'll be headed to Brynnlaw shortly. I'm interested in people's thoughts about the following questions:

What Equipment should I bring?

Will I be able to travel back to Chapter 4 & 5 later, to bring back Equipment that I couldn't carry on my PCs, Equipment that might be useful later in the game to Athkatla?

Well, I would take the bare minumum if your soloing, but with a party you shouldn't have to much to worry about as you get something to help you out with item carrying in spellhold.

If you want specifics on the items you should take let me know what class you have and who is in your party. Oh, and did you do all/most the side quests?

 

I have completed all of the major Quests/ SubQuests for Chapters 2 & 3 except the following:

[1] Waukeen's Promenade - Cernd's Child
[2] The Graveyard - Crypt King
[3] Bridge District - Rogue Stone Doorway and Twisted Rune
[4] Bridge District - Valeria's Goons
[5] Umr Hills - Fael and the Human Flesh Armor
[6] The Docks - Jaheira's Plot w/ Harpers
[7] The Docks - Restore Kangaxx the Demi-Lich

* My primary PC is an Elven Mage
* I have two other PCs: one is an Elven Inquisitor, the other a Kensai-Thief Elven multiclass character
* Also, I have Jaheira and Viconia in the party.
* I will bring Yoshimo (who will trade out with Imoen).

You have probably assigned the best items to your chars then.

Don't forget to do Jaheira's Harper Quest and get the ring of wizardry for your mage.

It might be worth getting the Staff of the Magi before leaving as it will help keep your mage protected throught the Underdark, but also for the Spell Trap ability (learning it is annoying when there are so many other good level 9 spells).

And remeber to take either Aegars Hide Armour (better with Item Upgrade Mod) or the Shadow Dragon Armour (Better when combined with Valygar's Armour with Item Upgrade Mod) for your Kensai / Thief when he gets the Use any Item.

And take Lirlicor for your Inquisitor's second weapon in case you run into mindflayers. Nothing worse than being dominated right?
