Bug with the Spell-50 mod...

    I'd created a separate thread 'Couple of bugs?.. in BG2' regarding this problem, but after going through the various mods' readme.txt files, I discovered that this bug was mentioned in the Spell-50 mod, which extends the effects of various spells to lvl 50.

    Well, the mod says to ignore the bug, but its really annoying. I have the IEEP, WinBIFF etc etc, so can someone please give me ideas how to take care of the bug ? I've tried editing the SPWI514.spl file that came with the mod but no go...can someone who has experience with spell making and editing help me out please?

    Here's an instance of the bug I was referring to... I had a lvl 50 Sorc cast Lower Resistance on Illasera, and instead of a "Illasera's Magical Resistance lowered by 60%" or something like that, I got some way off-base string about Kretor introducing himself to me... I mean, wtf?!?

    Any ideas people?

    Yeah, sounds like you uninstalled Spell-50 and then reinstalled it in a different order. This wrecks strings in save games.

    NO! That's not it! I read on this board that this happens if you install mods wrong etc etc. I re-installed BG2 and ONLY installed the spell-50 mod. It still happened! I figured that the error would go away and re-installed. Its still there which is why I'm posting on this board in the first place... :confused:

    This bug is also mentioned in the Readme.txt file accompanying the Spell-50 mod... I wanted to know if there was anyway to fix this... could the gurus help me out please?

    you probably need to uninstall BG2 *and* delete everything in your override folder - or just delete everything except your save folder
