Bush steals another election?

    [​IMG] I think we are all suprised at how the exit polls were so very wrong this election, considering they are among the most accurate of polls. This has led some(myself included) to believe that there has been some uncouth business going on with the votes and machines, particularly the much-lauded Diebold machines. So I was reading an article at the Smirking Chimp about the election results, which provided some charts.These charts of the Florida election are very interesting. The expected number of voters typically increases for both parties, but in many of the Op-Scan precincts, the percent change between those expected to show up and those who did changes drastically, favoring the Republicans by a large margin.

    For example, in Dixie county, the expected voter turnout for Republicans was exceeded by 358%, while the turnout by the dems was at minus 60%. This is the case in several counties using the Op-Scan machines.

    Yes, that's odd. And there was plenty of foul play going on, so I've heard - some black voters were intimidated by racist organizations into staying home rather than going out and voting for Kerry, who said organizations believed the black voters were going to vote for. The idea of someone rigging the election through the machines is preposterous, though. No matter how dumb Bush may or may not be, he's not dumb enough to think he can get away with rigging a machine to give him extra votes. That's too easy to detect, track, and find out about. Also, it's rather silly for this to come up again after Bush got a commanding lead in BOTH Florida and Ohio - it wasn't a few hundred votes which made the difference, it was a few hundred THOUSAND votes this time.

    Also, one must take into account the utterly lackluster performance of Kerry during this campaign, and the way Bush got many Christian democrats to vote his way, as I've heard.
