can gnome be a pure mage?

    As my topic asked, I can't seems to create a gnome as a pure mage, only as a illusionist.
    My friend told me it should be possible. So I am confused. Can it be done?

    Just tried it -- no can do. The only option is illusionist (even on the multi-class level). If you're bent on a gnome who is a mage other than an illusionist, it's Shadowkeeper for you.

    If you really want a pure mage I wouldsuggest you to use SK, probably cheating, but it's nice for the fun of it :D

    Yeah, I always thought it stunk that a gnome could only be an illusionist. By being able to have a 19 in intelligence, he is the only mage that can learn all the spells of a spell level, and yet because he is an illusionist, it means he can't have all those spells in his spell book.
