Perhaps it was an important meeting and he didn't know if it required his constant presence or not? I doubt he would be so dependent on Condi as to ask her if he can go to bathroom. :shake:

Very much like how defendants act while in the courtroom. Was this at someplace where Bush couldn't just 'pop out' for a few minutes? If so, it explains the note and I'm pretty sure he doesn't speak spanish that well.

Aye, as much as I love to slight Dubya, he probably wanted to 'organize' things - if he had to briefly leave, he'd have Condi cover for him while absent (if she was *speaking* at the time, she could work in a 'please excuse my...') Or perhaps the meeting would require a recess if he were to depart, as chev posed.

But that makes me think of something; how would she refer to the president in a formal address or speech? "my boss" just doesn't feel right, for some reason. :)

Your supposed to take care of these things before class (or in Bush's case, meetings)! Just like my primary school teacher used to say.

@Kuemper, he did not write it in Spanish (photo has his note in English), thats just the Spanish translation for El Mundo. Though I did read that he can speak some Spanish.

I saw the note and I didn't claim he wrote it in spanish. I was merely trying to come up with a plausible idea of why he would be writing a note about needing to use the toilet in an important (?) meeting. Feels like I took a wrong turn somewhere. :)

:) Missed the bathroom, kuemper? Tough luck.

Actually your post makes sense to me.

Bush being from Texas his 'spanish' is problem spanglish, iirc the term correctly.

This reminds me of a story of my Aunt Hilda's third cousin twice removed. Oops, sorry wrong forum! :D

It was at the UN meeting, as I said to my girfriend: by the time when he was speaking there where no empty chair, when Zapatero (Spanish President) there was just 30 or so people and they were talking eachother about who knows, when Bush was caught writting that when another 'I don't know who is he' was talking.

    He isn't *that* old...

The dude was probably stuck in a hellishly long and boring meeting, and natured called. I've been in a 4 hour long meeting that had no breaks. It's hell if nature calls because you literally can't leave, or the rest of the meeting is meaningless once you get back. :bang:

But I'm overlooking the thing that's really important here: Why the hell is this being discussed? Is Bush's life and note taking *that* interesting? No? Then why bother? :bang: :rolling:
