Can you change NPCs voice sets?

    [​IMG] Just wondering. I'd rather give Valygar Cernd's voice when I'm using him and not Cernd - Valygar is just sooooo boooooring...

    I'm guessing it would be long, tedious and very unlikely that you can actually do it, but if there was a way I would do it.

    Not really... you'd just need to extract Cernd's voice set, rename all the files to match those of Valygar's, and copy them to the override directory.

    The only side effect is that his subtitles wouldn't match his voice anymore. And what would happen to banters?

    Nope. I think the subtitles are actually in the wav files, which is why you can't read them with a normal media player.
    Unchanged. The banters are controlled by the dialog file attached to the character, which is completely independent of the soundset. You might have some weirdness with hearing your character speak with two different voices for his normal soundset and the banters/interjections, though.

    Nope. The subtitles are in the dialog.tlk file, just like any other dialogue. The sound files are assigned to every line.

    You can't read the files in a normal media player because the sound files are compressed WAV files.

    Actually, that can be changed if you change his entire soundset.

    WeiDU could change the soundset for you in about 30 seconds flat. You just need the file names, and that takes a little longer to do. You actually don't need to rename anything, just change a couple headers in the four VALYGA*.CRE files.

    Technically, you don't even need the filenames if you're comfortable working with variables and loops.
