Entering the sixth level of the library where the gatewarden should transport me to the barracks...
    He simply won't do that....
I didn't kill Rieltar and his party ( where he should accuse me from, but he doesn't).

Anyway also when I kill Rieltar he just say that somebody is looking for me in the catacombs.
Talked to everyone I should in the library

    Any help ?

    tried that, but without luck....
It seems that I have some kind of videobug though.
It started in my latest return to the Flaming Fist compound where a little video is shown when you enter the building, the video always return every 2 steps I take. The same thing happens when I enter the 1st level of the library or when I come down the stairs.

    Important or not ?
One of my characters wears the boots of speed and since I went inside the library for the 1st time he walks like everyone else...

I played the 1st Baldurs Gate about 6 years ago and that didn't happen ( I think )

Are there any other possibilities to enter the catacombs ??

No, you´ll have to get caught and accused of murder... Anyway, just reinstall and load up your game again. Be sure to save your save though!

What do you mean with save your save ?
If I uninstall BG and install it again, is it then still possible to load my latest games ?

Just find your saved games probably somewhere around this path: C:bad:Program Files\Black Isle\Baldur's Gate\Saves and copy them to a safe place where they won't get deleted during uninstallation of the game. I'm not sure it might even offer to you to keep the saves but I wouldn't bet on that.

When you reinstall just put them back and you'll be able to load them without any problems.

That's what Duke Eltan means, if you want to play your old game, copy your save-game files (or even the entire directory) out to a new folder so that when you uninstall it your game isn't deleted.

Then, when you have re-installed, you can put your saves back where they came from and (hopefully) will be able to progress properly.

    Thus your saves are saved.

And welcome to the boards! Edit/ sorry my mistake, saw your post count and not your registration date /Edit

If you have any further problems, just let us know, someone should know what to do.

Edit: Pipped at the post! :)

[IMG] Thanks for responding so quickly everyone ;)

Uninstalled and installed BG1 again, copied my saved games to the game, but unfortunately without any succes....

The gatewarden still won't transport me away, the boots of speed won't work and also the video returns every 2 steps on the 1st level

Seems that I have to start all over again or not ?

Silly me, I forgot to ask the obvious questions right from the start:

What version of the game are you using? Do you have the latest patch? Are you Baldurdashed? Whats mods do you have installed?
