I got turned down for DLA. Which means my application for housing benefit and my renewal for income support has also been rejected. This is going to be fun.

In the interview with the 'health professional' that did my assessment he decided within 20 minutes I had no problems. He asked no questions on my Aspergers, Dyspraxia or Meares-Irlen. Instead deciding I must not have it and ignoring to bring it up at all.

I took three steps in his office to get to the other side of the room to do a few motion exersizes for him. One I could not do and one that hurt me. They were exersizes I had to do when being diagnosed with Ehlers Danlos in the first place so it seemed perfectly normal to me.

His opinion though? I can walk fine and my movement is obviosuly not limited as I could do all the exersizes... even the ones displaying I was hypermobile.

Well excuse me for a moment... but the point of me being in a wheelchair is the fact it is painful to walk. I could not even get INTO THE BUILDING for the assessment without help. The curbs were terrible outside the building and the reception desk was shoulder height to Kev who was stood up! Bet they didn't sodding mention that in the report.

I understand the whole "Well there are benefit frauds! We have to be careful!" but the tactic is "Cripples are raping our economy! Take away their money and make them go through a miserable and costly appeal at the taxpayers expense!"

    It's just humiliating.
