Desperately seeking guidance to load modules & stuff I can't load a Front End, so I can't load a module. Been at this for 2 hours, hopelessly lost. I played the old TOEE several years ago but loading this new stuff is not too user friendly. Would LOVE to call someone and get walked through the loading process.

Hi Don - you don't actually need 10 posts to post (umm... yea), you only need 10 posts to be able to post your own blogs and similar. Plus, that's 10 posts in different threads. ;)

I also doubt you'll get (m)any phone calls - forums don't really work that way. Communication is pretty much exclusively online. That said, I hope someone can help you with your issue now that I've moved it to the proper forum and its own thread.

    Thank You

Thank you for your help. I'm even willing to make an appropriate donation to this website for a phone call that will get me going. I seem to have downloaded Atari patch 1 and 2, and the .NET framework, but when I go to load the 8.0 mod it runs for hours and I have to give up and assume I have done something wrong. Quite frustrating.

Since you're using the Circle of Eight modpack, seek help at co8.org (hosted by Sorcerer's Place). There are probably a lot more active ToEE fans there than here at SP.

OK, I'm going to to assume you are talking about the Circle of Eight mod's Front End X.

I don't know what version of Windows you are using, but I will assume Windows 7. If that's true (and I'm sure it's true for Windows 8 as well but I don't know because I'm still using Windows 7), you have to run ToEE Front-End X as an administrator.

So, I'm going to assume you have the ToEE Front-End X icon on your desktop which you are currently double-clicking to run it. Instead of double-clicking on the icon, right click which will bring up a context menu from which you should select "Run as administrator".

If you want to be able to just double click the ToEE Front-End X icon, after you right click as the paragraph above, select "Properties" instead from the context menu, and this will bring up a dialog box with several tabs. Click on the "Shortcut" tab, then on the "Advanced" button on the Shortcut tab. This should bring up an "Advanced Properties" dialog box in which you should check the "Run as administrator" check box.

Now, once you have successfully started ToEE Front-End X as an administrator it will bring up a dialog box in which you need to select the Circle of Eight Modpack that you wish to play (by default the original ToEE is activated not the Co8 modpack) and then click on the "Activate" button.

After that, all you need to do when you run the ToEE Front-End X is click on the "Play" button when the Circle of Eight Modpack is highlighted.

    I hope that helped.
