Cardiac Arrest? Try a sandwich

That's deplorable. Last year when my family was traveling en route to Oahu my wife's appendix burst on the plane. The airline cleared an entire center aisle on a full flight so that my wife could lie down. They gave her anything and everything she needed (oxygen, pain killers, and tons and tons of attention) for a good 3 hours. When we landed, she was rushed off the plane in a stretcher and ambulenced to the nearest hospital. No one tried to charge us a cent extra, and I even received follow up calls from the airline a couple of days later just checking how my wife was doing. My wife had her appendix removed that evening (while she was pregnant, mind you) and was discharged the following afternoon to begin our (very slow paced) vacation. I couldn't have imagined the situation being handled any better.

Compare that with the above situation, and again I say, deplorable.

 

Holy crap Marc! Man, not only does she now have the "I was in labor for 29 hrs, you nothing about PAIN!!" defense, she can add an appendectomy to the list. Good luck my man, you will lose every argument from here on out. Even when your right, you will get the "shut up and leave me alone, I have gone through so much for us already, I don't need this from you..." routine. My condolences...

 

There's no doubt about it.. I'm totally screwed!

Fortunately, my wife is really cool about these kinds of things, in all honesty. Due to some miracle of nature she tends focus on the fact that her husband was with her every step of the way, and I somehow end up looking the hero (clearly her delirium is working in my favor). It was that way with the birth of our 3 kids, her appendectomy, and a nasty ovary removal that occurred several years ago.

That's not to say that she lets me win arguments... just to be clear. She simply finds other ways to invalidate my opinions on matters of her choosing. She's quite skilled at this, in fact.
