    [IMG] Breaking News!:

I was searching the net about some ways to retrieve the data from my old and scratched CD's and I've found that a fungus is responsible for literally eating the data surface on the disks.

So if you plan on warehousing your CD's please pay atention not to place them in a dark hot humid area.

This info came from a Spanish magazine named PCActual (Today's PC translated) November 2001.

I've tried to contact the Science Museum in Spain and the info seems to be correct so far.

Wow....could I blam that fungus for ruining my TOTSC cd? I mean my cd's are right next to my computer and the computer makes heat right?

So I guess we all shouldn't put cd's next to our computer.

You have a webpage or something to back up?

Yeah, I remember reading about something that can breakdown the plastic, too.

But, then you have to worry about sunlight as well.

Which is a good reason to only play from your backup...

    To the sisters question...
Tell your sister how she can get her own ICQ number. Or what's her problem?

    Z,
    Two questions:
    1. Who is your sister?
    2. Why are there LOTS of bugs in your bed?

Bugs and other stuff like to live in eletronic warm places. My aunt once had a tv and when she came back form living in texis it was infested with roches. Ick.

Talking of spiders, one has somehow got into my monitor and is walking across the screen...

My CDs' are safe, there are some next to the monitor, some on the Chest of Drawers and some in my room on my CoD and under the bed in the drawer there. Apart from my SoA CDs, RIP
