Celestial Fury. I Think it Stuns Too Often

Discussion in 'BG2: Shadows of Amn (Classic)' started by The Nomad, Jun 28, 2001.

1. Hi there, I just came Here to ask a question. But I happened To hang out Here much longer than anticipated Yikes! especially the watsnot section is great.

I am checking on my friend (brother's) apartment and he told me to go here to sorcerers if I had any problems.

My question is that I think I am going slightly mad. The celestrial Fury stuns way to often next to its description. The same with the vorpal sword. Am I the only one who feels this? If I am not alone then why can't the programmers make those simple facts work. It seems as a minor challenge to get numbers right.

PS, I should say hello from my friend (brother) and say that everything is jolly great on Bornholm, but he miss you guys. cute :)

What is the description for Celestial Fury? I could be wrong, but I thought it stunned every time if the target failed a saving throw...

Yeah, here it is:

Booming Thunder whenever the sword strikes an opponent (Stun, Save vs. Spell)
Shocking Blow chance when sword strikes an opponent (5% chance of 20 additional electrical damage).

So, it's the electrical damage that shouldn't happen very often...

3. You are hitting bullseye :)

Combat Abilities:
Booming Thunder whenever the sword strikes an opponent
(Stun, Save vs. Spell)
Shocking Blow chance when sword strikes an opponent
(5% chance of 20 additional electrical damage)

But I feel that I stun everytime I hit. Not to complain or anything. But I thought Monsters had very good (low) saves Vs. Spells. Perhaps I am going mad afterall :)

Special Edit: You found the info way faster than me! I guess that's why You are a moderator :)

[IMG] And your brother is not complaining that it's too cold in Bornholm? I would if I were in his place ;).

5. We were in the army together and sort of got real good friends almost like brothers. That's why my notation may be a bit obscure. If its cold? I bet he stays indoor roleplaying no-matter what he says ;) No girlfriend to take care of and not too much physical labour to attend to.

He posted a topic a few days ago saying that he is going to a little island for the summer with about 10 000 - 20 000 people in it. The first thing I though of was something like Hawaii. You know all that summer ascociation. Just then I saw that he wrote that he is going to Bornholm. Bornholm is certanly no Hawaii.

[IMG] Yes, I'm sure Hawaii has no more than 10-20,000 inhabitants! :p

I don't mean to be rude and interrupt Your conversation but do You have any opinion on the actual Toppic of this Thread? This was the only thing I came in here for, and I am still dwelling in the watsnot section five hours later...

(bad boy kris You told me they were fast :p )

PS. Bornholm is pretty warm too. It's the island of sunshine.

I've never use the Celestial Fury or Vorpal Sword myself (yet), but I will mention that save vs. spells is frequently the worst save a monster has, as most of the instant death stuff (petrification, poison, death magic) falls under other categories with better saves.

You might want to turn on seeing dice rolls, it may tell you what they are rolling to save or not (I'm not sure about that), and you may want to check out Baldurdash (search old forum entries for a link) to see if there is an error that has been patched.
