    Anyone into 'folky' black or doom metal?

    There seems to be some great bands coming from Finland, France and Ireland.

    Does Insomnium count as folky? They're from Finland and are currently my 2nd favourite band behind Opeth. They are more Gothenburg death metal though, with awesome acoustic passages.

    Yeah Fintroll are great but also check out Ensiferum. I think they share members with Fintroll

    Heard some samples from them, not overly impressed.

    EDIT: Barathrum had half of Finntroll as members too, but did they sound alike? Most certainly not.

    To be fair I have only got the first Ensiferum album so maybe you heard tracks of 'Iron'? But Finntroll are masters of their craft and deserve the success they get.

    Oh yes I forgot about the Spanish band Mago De Oz who are excellent and do some of the best Irish folk metal.

    Check out Ensiferum as they are excellent! They are like Fintroll and make you want to raise your fist in the airl and smile!

    I'm from The Netherlands, and the only way for me to get them was through Bol.com. For a price I normally don't pay for CD's!

    But Finisterra brings back so much memories to me that I had to have it.
