    I have completed the quest reunited Cernd with his long lost son, but one question remain for me. Does anyone know what is behind the barred door and how can you open it? I have tried to pick the lock and the knock spell nothing seems to work.

    That's just the way it is. Nothing opens that door. If you go into other rich houses, you will often find the same door, it is always locked or 'not interesting' or something else preventing you from entering.
