[IMG] Hey all! I was jus wondering about the appearance of the characters and how you change. I know this has probably been posted like a thousand (or more :p ) times, but I just wanted a reminder!

Something I was really frustrated about was when my multiclass Mage/Thief FINALLY got the Robe of Evil Archmagi which took AGES to get, his appearance remained that of a thief with NO HOOD! :'(

Also, i was wondering if, when you wield a scimitar, you could enlarge it or something or change it to the same code of that of a genie of djinni because there's look NICE! :D

And just a few little things like that, like character shapes and that, things i could choose and experiment with. I know it sounds really really childish but hey, I WANT IT!!! :D

    Any help would be appreaciated!

The scimitar thing probably wouldn't work, because the animation would be out of synch with your hand when you swung it (since it's designed for a genie's swing animations).

Easiest way to mess with your character's animations is to use the cheat keys. Use CLUAConsole:EnableCheatKeys(), then select your character and hit ctrl+6 or ctrl+7 to cycle your guy's avatar. Use ctrl+1 to change armour level animations (you can use this to make your thief look like he's wearing a leather armour). Unfortunately any changes you make like this will undo themselves whenever you reload your game.

You can change it in a more permanent manner, but it involves messing with game files.

G3 tweaks has a hooded rogues component. You could just install that.

You can use Shadowkeeper to make avatar changes permanent. But you can only set a mage/thief to mage (instead of thief - the default), which would give you a mage-style hoodie rather than a thief one. For a thief hoodie, try the G3 tweak mentioned.

A mod of mine also introduced an avatar morphing script, basically, I can change my character's appearance any time I want, including class/race and even gender. For example, I turned Minsc's appearence into half-orc fighter, Keldorn into human cleric, and my cleric/mage finally had the cool mage appearance.

G3 tweaks allows hooded rogues? I was looking for that for nearly a week! For my bard's looks ofcourse!

Anyway, another mod introduced avatar shifting depending on gear. For example if your M/T wears studded leather armor, WHOOP his appearance will turn into a thief to show he is REALLY wearing an armor. Then if he dresses up a robe, he will turn into mage appearance to show he is really wearing a robe.

Meh, I love avatar shifting script better as it gives me total freedom; and the two conflicts with each other.

    SKing works fine also.

I will now check G3 tweaks, it did not have 'hooded rogues' component when I last downloaded it!

SK is permanent solution, but the G3 tweaks has the scripts I mentioned for flexibility.

BTW, I can'T find 'Hooded rgoues' component in G3 tweaks, are we talking about the same mod or not? Can you give me a direct link? Please?

@ Prine and Luiz, can you two direct me to this mod because if Silver can't find it then what chance do I have! :D

@ Silver, I'm liking that thing you mentioned about how the appearance depends on what the character is working! Total freedom! Did you get it from here?

No, from G3 tweak pack. It has lots of useful improvements, with two components which are just the things you were looking for:

Change Avatar When Wearing Robes or Leather Armor (Galactygon)

This component will change characters' avatars to a mage if they equip a robe or a fighter/thief/cleric if they equip armor. This allows a thief/mage, for example, to equip a robe and look like as if he is actually wearing one, and then equip a piece of leather armor, and look like a thief. This component will affect all items in the game, including those added by mods.

OR the second is better IMHO:

    Avatar Morphing Script
When I play an Infinity Engine game I would prefer my multi/dual class characters not to look like fighters. This script allows you to select whatever PC avatar you wish for your character or any joinable NPC. Assign this script to the character whose avatar you wish to change. To change the avatar return to the game screen, ensure the party AI in on (and the game is not paused) and press 'S'. This will take you to the avatar selection screen. Once the morph is complete re-assign a combat script to the character.

    They are both here:

Feel free to install some of the other components too, item icon improvements plus IWD casting graphics add an unique favour to the game. :thumb: Combine with BG1 casting sounds (terrific!) and One Pixel Productions (BG1 avatars and item icons etc, that sweet authentic feel!) and your BG2 will be more pleasing to see and hear IMHO. :thumb: Highly reccomended!

OMG thankyou silver! Sometimes you really are my hero! :D Just one question before I proceed, will any of this affect my current mods I have installed?

Either way I was thinking of started waaaay over and just uninstalling everything and then just playing wit my regular old game again!

No I don'T think so, I got this mod in the middle of my game with even tons of other mods installed, and it didn't cause ANY problems. We can never be sure but I can say that it is a very well-coded, non-buggy mod.
