    Hi, I've changed my name and I was advised to say that I have here, just so every knows that i have changed my name. I use to be called "Ruler of the Known Universe" and I've now shortened it down to RotKU. :)

    I think i ad a good reason. I had been asked by several people to change my name beause it use to be to long and take up to much space in the forums. Is that not a good enough reason? Its called kindness. I wont go any futher with this before i say something i shouldn't, but can i suggest you add that people should only change their names with a good reason to the rules or FAQs?

    Don't want to start the flaming, but I think everybody knows they shouldn't change their names too often. It wouldn't be nessesary to add to the rules/FAQ if it isn't already there...

    Yes, too long nicks serve no good purpose. Even their owners don't write them in full. I believe a nick should be all lowercase (like mine) or all uppercase (let BOC be an example, hope he doesn't mind) except for standard name build whether it's one word or more (like the Salem guy above ;) ).

    I must also say I prefer your current acronymous nickname to the full wording, but this is because I generally frown on that type of nicks. Another thing is that the result of using such a nick is opposite to intended.

    Your old name did make the forum listing longer, it would double space the line when you started a thread ... so the change is a good thing.

    I was thinking about changing my name to Persimmon. But due to Tal's dislike of name changing, I'll hold off ;) (j/k)

    The rules are already full to the brim of common sense recommendations, so if I started adding things like "don't change your PDN excessively because it creates confusion among the board members" or "don't use questions for usernames" and "don't user numbers for usernames" I could write a whole book on common sense online behaviour. And it still probably wouldn't help, because people who do things mentioned above usually don't read the rules anyway.
