Chapter 5 problems

    [IMG] Hi guys,
I began noticing some problems with my game towards the end of chapter 5. Upon killing Gervisse I returned to Volita only to find her still telling me she didn't have time for my silly games. I went to the children and they just kept crying - whingy little f*****s - and asking me if I believed them about the sodding bogeyman.
I then tried to give Fergus his angel skin ring only to have him just keep rapping on about his fiancee and the wind or some other crap like that.
However, this is not the major problem, the fact that Duke Eltan seems to be suffering from Alzheimers is the problem.
After nailing everyone at the Iron Throne - well, to take things back a step the first time I tried to go into the Iron Throne it kept playing the cut scene to me - I exited the building and was stopped by Caedmon who informed me that Scar wanted to see me.
I went back to the Flaming Fist and Scar wasn't in the foyer waiting for me and when I went upstairs Duke Eltan, despite me having killed everyone and retrieved all the scrolls from the Iron Throne, just keeps telling me to hurry because I've got stuff to do.
I can't think of anything else I haven't done and surely Caedmon wouldn't have talked to me if I hadn't killed everyone I should have done.
I tried stealing the tome off Eltan to give to the gatekeeper at Candlekeep but that doesn't work as I'm guessing the guy won't recognise it unless Eltan has actually given it to me himself.
I really can't understand why this has happened but if anyone has any ideas - such as patches or fixes, etc - I'd be glad to hear them.
The only thing I can think of is that it has something to do with my reputation as it is only 12 (average), where I purposefully kept it due to having Kagain in my party.
    Any help would be great.

Did you ever install the official patch? There's a separate one for TotSC if you've got that. (And installing the 'plain' patch over TotSC could cause some problems.)

The only other thing besides that is that only one of the children will give you the reward; the other will just keep whining.
