Ever since I encountered Bhodi in the maze beneath Spellhold and first turned into the Slayer I have been having "Charisma Modifications" and I dropped all the way to 1. Does anyone know if this is normal, and does it go back to normal at some point? Thanks

Hmm... we've heard of various stats dropping without any normal cause it would seem. Though I think that changing into a slayer drops your charisma by one each time you do it, but I could be wrong. I never use it myself.
Anyway, if there's no other way around it I suggest you download some editor (try ShadowKeeper) and fix your stats back to normal. You can get SK at http://www.sorcerers.net/Games/BG2/index_editors.php , at the bottom of the page.

Thanks Taluntain. I've got Shadowkeeper and I already used it to move my Charisma back to normal, but it keeps dropping. Oh well, I'll just have to keep an eye on it and fix as necessary. I wonder if this is some sort of unknown curse for using the Ring of Human Influence for so long and then giving it up. :)

In case anyone cares, I figured it out. I am currently using the Rod of Terror and I just read that each time it is used there is a 20% chance of losing 1 point of Charisma permanently. I thought it meant "use" as in as an item, but I guess "use" means as a weapon. Guess I'll get rid of that piece!

Now you can put your charisma back down to 1 since it was modified in game by a legit item.

    Syl...

Does wearing the charisma ring while using the Rod of Terror blow the ring up? I immediatly sold the rod, as I cherish each single one of my few charisma points.
After all it does indeed matter if people just avoid you, or get sick in your face  .

I'm just wondering if it's possible to have negative charisma. Or will it just drop down to 0, and then stop? With 3 on my current Char I really don't have that much to loose...

One artifact: Ring of Human Influence. Unequip the ring, use the Rod like hell, and then equip it back.
Woohoo game exploitation. Who's gonna stop me? :D
