I'm not sure if this is the right place for this, but if so, hear me out.

I recently got a website of my own going, and am now looking for a chat room for my small group of members. My question is, does anyone know of a free, easy chat room I can set up using a HTML code to put ontomy site. I really wnat one with good moderating tools and I've searched everywehre. Any ideas?

Usually hosts have some tool-sets of their own and I can remember that at least cPanel had a chat-room installed by default. Plesk should have one too, even though you need to install it yourself first.

Alternatively, you could register a channel on an IRC server and put up an applet on your site to allow people to connect that way if they don't do it the old-fashion IRC client way.

I agree with chev on this one. From my experence, IRC clients offer a ton of moderation controls, and is very nice all-around. A java-applet (like the one here at the BoM) is easy to use...plus you don't have to use the java-applet to access the chatroom. :thumb: :rolling:
