Man, I think Chloe is a little bit too strong. With a Dex of 25. She's a demi-god by herself!
Anyway, I think that she rocks but not to the point of being an essential character.
The fact that she is a warmachine is great.

But how do you guys rank her?

PS: Is there any bug problem I should know about when recruiting her in my party?

[IMG] Chloe? Who the heck is Chloe? Must be someone from a mod, of course, but I've not heard of her. What's her class and other stats, weapon slots etc. and is her portrait as sexy as Viconia's? :p

    I hate Chole.
She has too much development - more than the PC or any of the villans. 25 dexterity is insane, stupid insane that is. Her story is bogus and her alignment doesn't suit her character - if anything she is chaotic.

Sure, she's the most powerful kensai you'll ever see, but she's too powerful.

If you want a good modded NPC that romances females or Imoen: get Kelsey. Far better, not overpowered and has a far more believeable storyline.

    Chloe is a Kensai
All the stats are normal EXCEPT her paranormally high dex, maxed at 25.
Her romances seem to make her a les. somewhat i think...

    Guys ...
Any of you who think Chole's overpowered check out Bodhi's creature file when you meet her last.

As for the 25 Dex what does it give her?
She is not a thief, cant use missile weapons and starts at AC 2 while a PC Kensai would start at AC 4. Big deal!
At 13 Str the damage she does is pathetic. Take away her swords and give her non-magical stuff and Minsc could take her out with just his fists.

Give her the 'Hill Gaint Girdle' and 'Cloak of Sheild' and yes you have a war machine on your hand.
But is that worth the pain of listening to her nonsence? Not to mention her hitting on MY girl.

    NO WAY!!!

I found Chloe entertaining but power-wise? Decent but not overpowered, at least in the early game.

13 strength and a sub-par Constitution make her at best a secondary fighter. 25 Dexterity makes her AC slightly better but far from what one can achieve in Full-Plate + 5 or something.

I appreciate the effort the creators of this mod have put into her dialogue. They're numerous, and only a few of them are annoying.

Her alignment is True Neutral, IIRC. Fits her perfectly, IMO.

And her romance with Imoen is just an amusing sideshow while I'm hacking and slashing my way through BG2.

I may throw her in later- I usually play fighter types myself though so fitting her in may be hard.

However seeing a 25 Dex just strikes me as wrong, even it has little effect. Plus she has better dex than her mother (the god of movement). Rather ridiculous.

Dunno about the dialogue, since I have never given it a chance. When I read that she was a "demi-god" with 25 dex, I just skipped the DL button and took Kelsey instead. :D

Still, I'm curious about the dialogue. Shame that it cannot be read from the web...

Comparing her with Bodhi is pointless. Bodhi is meant to be one of the more powerful characters in BG2, but that you get more exp from Bodhi than say Firkraag is just dumb IMO. She´s no ordinary vampire though but not more powerful than Firkraag. (And while on vampires I think they´re a bit weak.)

Although, an NPC with a dex at 25 just doesn´t seem right. No matter how much it does or doesn´t give you.

I don't want to cross up the thread but vampires being weak - right on Duke. These are meant to be among the most feared of all monsters but take away their level drain (by magical object or easy restoration) and you're left with a mediocre monster. If there were no XPs for killing them unless you found their coffin, which they habitually hid as they would i.e. in inaccessible places (because they can spider climb and fly (in bat form)) they would at least be irritating. They could have made them as bad as they were meant to be by at least having churches charge the earth for restoration - as they would. they could base it on how much you donate, your alignment and rep.

Bodhi may have freakishly high stats (I've never actually checked) but the difference is that she's not an NPC who can join the group (Ascension aside) and so whatever powers she has aren't going to affect the way the game plays. Having an NPC who *can* join the party and has a Dexterity of 25 seems a bit over the top for my liking.

Shadow Keeper shows Bodhi at levels 14 and 25.
At level 25 her stats are 24-24-20-15-15-14 and all saves at 5.
    Chole has 13-25-16-12-12-14.
As for being joinable Ive heard of someone using the mind flayer circlets on Jon, so Bodhi ...
    Lets forget that.

OK so there is no joinable NPC with such a ridiculous stat.
My point was that the game allows for such a stat. The designers probably thought this would give them a manner in which to expand her story and make her intresting. Sure made us discuss her.
I for one have no hassles with her 25 Dex. Its not a class stat but nor is it entirely useless. A 25 Str Barbarian or a 25 Int Sorcerer would be an uber overpowered mod. Chole is not.

I could just as well picked an Admantite Golem or a Dragon. Or the Captain in the Slavers Quest and Hendak.
The game cheats and so did the mod designers.

And 25 Dex for a kensai?
    Ridiculous? Yes.
    Over powered? No.
Worthy of taking her in your party? If you got nothing else to try out.

Isn't one of the reasons that people say she's overpowered because of the items she comes with?

I don't actually have the mod, though.

The bigest weakness of the kensai is it's bad AC. A 25 DEX greatly offsets this weakenss.

BTW, a 25 INT Sorcerer would be just as effective (except with the Wish and Limited Wish spells) as a 9 INT Sorcerer.

A 25 INT sorcerer would have a lot more spells than a 9 INT sorcerer and so would be a LOT more effective.

No he wouldn't. Sorcerers get a fixed number of spells at each level, irregardless of int.

Actually, the way BG2 is done, there is no stat that really matters for a sorcerer.

Ah. It's wizards I'm thinking of, not sorcerers.

Even wizards won't get extra spells, because that feature is only implemented in 3rd ed. AD&D, not in BG2...IIRC.

Atleast, in my own personal experience, I don't recall my wizards having ANY bonus spells slots...

The only effect of high INT and mages is that you get to learn more spells in your spellbook; you still cast the same number between resting. Makes no difference at all for sorcerers, as Rastor already mentioned.

I've never finished Chloe, though it's my understanding that one of her swords gets bumped to a +6 weapon in SoA. Considering that there are only four +6 weapons in all of (unmodded) BG2, and they're all available in mid-ToB and two-handed, this sounds overpowering.

edit: scratch that, it appears the +6 is planned for the ToB expansion. Where do her weapons max out in SoA?
