Hilarious, and really sad at the same time. What a weird pastor. Anyone else heard about this?

 

LOL! He downloads gay porn from the internet, and shows them to the church goers as an example of gay sex. Yeah, we all know that regular porn is a perfectly normal example of hetero-sex, so the same must be true of gay porn.

 

That's really sad and stupid indeed.

The law is scary and this pastor is just stupid.... or such a hyped up ideologue that he cannot face the possibility he is promoting evil.

I think this is a situation where fundmentalism has really run amok in that it is authorizing killing people and is sort of a Frankenstein's monster of a little known political organization referred to as the family in the US. This political group doesn't try to grab headlines so you may not read much about it but it is associated with Evangelical Capitalist Christianity (if you can understand what I mean by linking those 3 descriptors, if not think about an understanding of Jesus that says "privatize").

It has been involved in some good things but this is a case where people it knew and celebrated coming to power in Uganda have been acting fascist-and some members of the group are struggling in figuring how to deal with it (argue the Ugandan leaders back or just trying to pretend they didn't know them).

 

I think only one detail of the law is scary. I have no problem with arresting homosexuals who knowingly spread the HIV virus to their partners and charging them with the most severe crime (and punishment) available. The only problem is that the same logic should be applied to heterosexuals who do the same.

 

You are right with people that knowingly spread HIV. I'm uncomfortable with something as strong as the death penalty but given the deadly nature of the disease in many situations a punishment for people of any orientation who purposefully spread it is something that it is reasonable to propose.

People are getting killed by its spread and even if not that having their lives really damaged.



Though is there a punishment in the law for people just for acting gay (not spreading a disease)? That isn't about preventing HIV that is discrimination.
