[IMG] i am bored, so here it goes..
some background: i level up every 5 levels again to the next level, so when i reach level 5, i level up that character again to level 6, so right now, i am 3 levels above what i should be, however i play the whole game on HARD setting, so its balanced (at least it feels that way)

Monk, level 20 aasimar.. not bad, lots of immunities and resistances, improved evasion kicks, so no complaints here, although i am not sure i'd choose this class again in a game like this, probably a real tank instead.

Ranger, drow, level 19.. great character, but since I don't use ANY of his spells or ranger abilities, should have just made him a straight fighter for a few more BAB, although I do use ambi and two weapon all the time, however even if I took those feats with the fighter the fighter would still be stronger, not to mention he can wear big armour and still fight dual. So in IW2 imho the ranger is pretty much useless (although in PnP I am always a ranger)

Fighter 12 / Rogue 8, Tiefling.. although I thought this was gonna be a weakling, it is by far my favorite and most powerful character (most versitile as well). he can pick any lock, search and disable any device, intimidate/bluff out of any situation, AND on top of that he has a deadly ranged and two weapon attack (has the ambi and two weapon feats).. i am shooting for level 10 rogue for improved evasion and then fighter all the way, which will make my monk kind of useless. This is a great character, i'll play this one next time I play PnP.

Wizard 20, Sorcerer 1, human.. great character, but in IW2 it is much better to be a sorcerer, since I can cast 5 level 8 and 9 spells and have only one level 8 spell (symbol-pain, not the best) and no level 9 spells, so a sorcerer would be miles better, but I did not know this. Can someone tell me where I can find some level 9 spells (or level 8) cuz I can't find any (i am starting chapter 6 first battle right now)

Druid level 20, half-elf. weakling at first, now a serious tank, especially when it comes to hitpoints.. shapeshifting is fun, but the offencive spells are amazing. her attacks are not bad either, she has a bastard sword +4 (actuially just switched to +3 with specials, its a better sword).

So now that I have played the game, I really can tell where my party could have some help (for example, i miss some clerical abilities, especially with undead, and i hate the control undead wizard spell).

any pointers/opinions appreciated, i just need something to ponder.

Why do you miss turn undead? There is hardly any in the game and it's effectiveness is CHA based, so get a Paladin to do it, only 2 levels lower right? Besides you can only turn x times per day, not permanently like you almost had to in IWD1 chapters 1 and 2.
