I've heard some things about a collector's edition that has CHR files better than the normal versions. How do you get this?

You heard wrong. Most likely remembered wrong. ;)

The collector's edition of the game is the same, the only difference is that you get a copy of PHB, the game soundtrack and the PoR module along with the game.

What you probably heard is that the precreated NPCs you can pick at character creation have better stats than they would if you would make them yourself. That's true, and correct for any game, either collector's ed. or regular.

I suppose this is spam and I apologise profusely to the powers to be that lurk herein--but I've got to tell you that the heading "Collector's Edition" for por2 gave me the biggest laugh I've had in many a week!

Also if you are interested wiz8 is very, very good(and hard).
