What was it like for you OR how do you feel about it if you're attending it? (since I see most of us are in college or past it)

I just thought this was a good place to learn about the experieneces of others to hopefully improve mine. If you were in IB/AP/Honors/any other difficult classes classes in high school, do you feel more swamped by work in college or less? Was college more fun for you than your previous schooling years? Share any neat experiences you had, if you want. Did it really have an effect on your personality? Basically, would you do it over again if you could?

Alright. I'll say this flat out. I hated high school. Ever since I got my acceptance a month after starting senior year, I wanted out. I did take a number of honors and AP courses in it.

Just because you had an easy time in high school, you may not in college. I don't know how exclusive or challenging your particular school may be, but here's what I found.

I actually retook my AP calculus class in college and seriously it was not like what I thought it would be. Between my 5-7 classes each semester, I had a total of about 6 or 7 hours of homework per night.

Now that I'm done scaring you, its great. Just pick a school that matches with your personality and you'll love it and have fond nostalgia for the rest of your life.

As far as the effect on personality, I mellowed out a bit. In high school, I was this overstressed antisocial jerk. In college, I finally started really enjoying life and lightened up, made a lot of friends, and really began to have a much more positive outlook on life.

Hmmm - I loved my first five years of college so much that after I graduated, I applied to graduate school! College is great and I never want to leave it (so, I plan to be a professor someday, that way, I never have to!!)

I hated high school except for two things: the computer programming class I was in and JROTC (I loved the ladder far more the former which I loved as well.) I don't have many nice things to say about college, but then again I spent the last three years at a comunity college, and hopefully this spring I'll be off to a real college (University of Texas at Arlington.)

College is fantastic. The more difficult studies are balanced by the fun to be had.

I actually was just introduced to the wonders of D&D. College is great.

[IMG] I used to enjoy college, once upon a time. I am now in my last year of a finance degree and have had a headache for 6 months running. Sleep? What's sleep?

    Full-time work + full-time college = BAD IDEA!

[IMG] College was fantastic!!!I had a blast! So much so, that I got kicked out my freshman year
I went back the following semester, so it all worked out!

My greatest memories of college generally involve my fraternity house, our parties, and all the girls I met while I was in school! It gets harder to meet women after you finish. Actually, college was a pretty awesome time socially! I knew a lot of people, and had a great job working as a bouncer in our local bar...All in all, a good time ;)

Law School was a totally different experience. I worked full-time and went to school at night. Most times I left home at 5:45AM and got home around 11:00PM. Although a bunch of us got together occasionally, school took up most of our time.

Maybe someday I'd like to teach at a university or law school...But for now, I am happy to be a lawyer!
