NWVault has interviewed mobyksu, a Community Tileset Project team member. His responsibilities include finding and squashing bugs in what's supposed to be the Community Expansion Pack's counterpart in the tileset area, supplying Neverwinter Nights module creators with the best tilesets which are already out there, as well as some new ones. Here's a snip:

    2. I see from my poking around on the NWVault that you have submitted a few Haks of your own. Also I note that you have a set of Haks for an up coming module campaign setting by yourself called Etinif. Apart from using some very nice pieces created by other artists, you also have created a few bits yourself in the Haks. Have you been modeling long, and did you start off doing that first, or editing itp files & .2da's before that?

Once I came up with the basic idea for my modules, I knew there were going to be some things that I would need that were not included in NWN. I was lucky enough to find a lot of these items on NWVault, but most of them didn't play nicely with each other. My first custom content work was editing .2da, .itp, and .set files in order to use all of the things I wanted at the same time. From there, I moved on to re-skinning tiles and to fixing some mistakes in tiles. It was the bug-fixing that got me far enough into the inner workings of the .mdl files to start changing geometry - adding, deleting, and moving parts around to create new tiles. I don't quite have the skill yet with the 3-D software to create my own work totally from scratch, but maybe someday I'll get there.

Read the whole thing at NWVault.
