I thought about starting a quote game in which you give a quote, and then another person complements that quote with another quote, so that they make some sense together. It doesn't have to make perfect sense, it can lead to amusing connotations, or paradoxical ones as well. The main point is that there should be something in those quotes that when they're brought together they might give some insight to each other, or have some connections which are apparent enough. Otherwise the rules will follow the other quote games, except that in this one you don't guess who's made a particular statement. The person who gives the best, or the funniest complementing quote may give a new quote to continue the game.

    For instance:

Knowledge is power - Sir Francis Bacon

That which does not kill us makes us stronger - Friedrich Nietzsche

So let's see how this goes...

    Alea iacta est - Caesar

    "Alea iacta est" - Caesar
"God doesn't play dice" - Einstein

And in search of a partner, here is one:

"If something can go wrong, it will" - Murphy :p

EDIT: And shouldn't this be in Whatnots?

    Who decides that then?

"If something can go wrong, it will." - Murphy

"If I'm wrong, I don't want to be right." - Anonymous

Do we really need yet another random quote game? Ugh... There are so many, I think I'll refer to them as YARQGs from now on! Anyway, moving to Whatnots...

Excellent point, seeing as how many of these quote games have fallen to the archives already.

@Gnarfflinger: Give a quote, if you please...

It's up to SP'ers to decide. If they like this idea, then hooray and if they don't, tough luck.

Good point, let's make that 'whoever complements the given quote first may continue'.

The person before me left me with:

    and my reply was:

    Doesn't that count?

If I understood Iku-Turso's rules, I think it goes like this:

Person A gives two complementary quotes to start the game, and then provide a third one, looking for love.

Person B provides a complementary quote to the third one provided by A, and then, provides his/her own quote to be complemented (which may be unrelated to the previous).

Person C complements Person B's new quote, and provides his own.

If I'm right, kuemper forgot to provide a quote. :nono: :p
