[IMG] I am relatively new at AD&D games (RPGs in general, for that matter), so pardon me if I sound like a total newbie.

I am in Windspear Hills of Chapter Two and have just fought off those vampires. My main character ended up energy drained (that orange T symbol) and now I can't seem to get rid of it. I have tried dispel magic, remove magic, bless, sleeping, etc, but none seems to help. I hope that effect isn't permanent? What should I do?

    Thanks.

You need the priest spell Restoration, in any of its forms to restore negative levels. If you go to a temple, it is one of the services rendered by the clerics there. Level drain is not really a magical effect in the sense of dispelling, but rather more like a curse.

Yup restoration will fix ya right up. And if you want to prevent it in the future I believe there's a priest spell called negative plane protection that should protect you from getting level drained in the first place. ;)

Note: You don't need to use restoration to get rid of ENERGY drain. That one will wear off by itself after a while.
LEVEL drain, however, can only be removed by restoration spells.
But it's a bit pointless to waste scrolls/spells on energy drains, especially if you're low level/low on money. Rather wait for a minute or two and it'll go away.

Ah, so Restoration is the key. Now I remember my character is LEVEL drained, not ENERGY drained. That explains why I can't just sleep it off.

Thanks for all the help and I am sure you will be seeing more of me in the future :)
