Crates in Dragon's Eye won't open

    is there any pick lock requirement in opening the locked crates in dragons eye?

    It is rather high - I mean the pick lock skill requirement. The best way to go is to use the Potions of Master Thievery found on the second and on the third levels (for non-quest crates). All that is quest-related can be opened if a certain condition is met.

    If you have a very high DEX, take off your armor and try the lock-picking again.
    If you don't have a high dex bonus, use a Cat's Grace spell/scroll/potion on your thief.

    I have +9 DEX bonus, but due to a bug in IWD2, my leather armor is limiting my dex bonus to all my thieving skills to +6 only. So when I take off the armor I get another +3 and it works.
    (Normally the armor Dex limitation should only apply the extra AC you get, not to the thieving skills).

    Could you not just bash the chests open? My rogues have never had much of a problem picking locks. But in the few instances where he or she could not open a lock one of my fighters was always able to bash it...
