[IMG] This weekend I was hunting golems in Planar Sphere with my Chorister, the damned things used their golem slows as usual.

Now, my spiffy Chorister has a save vs spells of 4, but somehow he failed ALL of the slow saves continously. In the end, I checked him and...

He used to have a AC of 1 and THAC0 of 11. (not power gaming here, with lousy ability scores and items :shake: ) But now he had a crappy AC of 19! And a THAC0 of 31 to boot! WTH!

I realised that Golem slows were cumulative, and that he had failed FIVE saving throws. Thus he got a total of -20 penalty to his AC and THACO.

Man, have you ever seen such pathetic AC and THAC0? Literally, he stood no chance at those odds, so I retreated, and my party made short work of them in no time. :p

Is this a bug, due to my mods, or is it game design? Have you eevr experienced such a thing? Also, does mage spell Slow also do stack like these? I never know, and I can not check my enemy's THACO and AC you know?

Any help, idea or insight would be appreciated.

I think it's something to do with the game. I've put a +4 weapon in keldorn's hands and taken on golems and watched his Thaco fluctuate between a normal thac0 and like 29.

the mage spell slow does stack, and can be used to great effect if used with greater malison. i find it works great if i am an early level sorcerer and going to take on the people in the temple district who have celectial fury. just hit the orog and minataur with the spells and watch minsc cut them into shreds.

    @ Silverstar

Nope, it's not a bug.Multiple Slows stack (as DeMoNiC_ChIcKeN said).

A slowed creature has a -4 penalty to AC and THACO and his movement rate and ApR halved. And the most important thing is that the target saves vs spell with a -4 penalty !

Cast G.Malison and then a 3x Slow S.Sequencer for some excellent results ;)

I did not know that! I'll definitely be trying that out shortly.

Greater Malison has a -4 penalty. The Slow spell itself has a -2... so enemies save at -6.

No, actually Slow allows a saving throw with a -4 penalty, which becomes -8 with the G.Malison.

So spell slow stacks too? Boy, this spell is truly wonderful. It has a save penalty of -4 too, which, with GM, makes it extremely hard to resist. I love the spell, but NOT when stupid golems use it on me. :p
