Its taken you almost a month to try it out!! :p

Well first of all, dont have the game running when you try to use DK2.

You can open a savegame if you want to edit any charecter in it. You can browse thru the various panes by pressing Page-Up or Page-Down.

IB is Item Browser, gives you basic information about any item you may encounter during the game. Press the 'Filter' button if you want specific items. You can use IB to assign items to your charecters in an opened savegame, inventory pane, if you wish.

SB is Spell Browser. Spells are classified by class, level, school and can be assigned in the appropriate spell pane of the save game.

CB is Charecter Browser. Additions here you cant add to a savegame but to the entire game. Gives you an idea of what abilities, strengths and weaknesses your opponents may have. And allows you to edit them.

Please tell me you have extracted it via WinRar.
