How do you deal with munchkin players? Any interesting/humerous tips would be welcome.

Personally, I give them what they want... quite literally. A fighter in a campaign I was running a while ago was constantly begging me to give him a vorpal sword, so I did. What I didn't tell him was that it was a reverse sword (blade is really hilt; hilt is really blade)

[IMG] I think it depends on what type of Munchkin they are 1) rules lawyer or 2) powergamer. The rules lawyer are just a pain in the butt. They delay gameplay and take away time from over players by debating last thing. The winer/powergamer who just 'wants' more powerful stuff is a little easier to handle just make the enemies that much harder. That's who our current DM does. You want to play a blud goblin psionic or you want a +3 magic weapon at 3rd level just look out for what is coming after you. We where attack by an avator in the second adventure.

The key is to keep it balanced and if they are too much of a pain just stop inviting them.

Once there was a powergamer, who wanted to become a lich. Not only did he want to become a lich, but I fear he had aspirations of godhood. Enter Church of Kelemvor. Even a lich cannot keep a horde of undead-haters at bay forever.

    1) Rules lawyer

Haven't met them, if I would I'd just say: 'I'm the GM and if I say a horde of peasants can overpower you without dice rolls, then they bloody well can!'

    2) Powergamer

Hard to be a powergamer in my games as I rarely give any items or focus much on combat anyway. If you really have problems with powergamers, start GMing Cthulhu instead.

[IMG] Excellent point Volar Blackmane. In that case they will be spending more time making new PC than playing the game. You have to love Cthulhu!
