    Hmm, protect yourself with "protection from Electricity / lightning"?

    Boots of grounding helps, Undead are also pretty well protected, so animate some of them if you can.

    I never had much trouble with them. (Never lost any character)
    Summon undead, they will resist that witch lights( :) ) and you will be safe. If you still get trouble than cast protective spells like protection from electricty, storm shell, elemental barrier etc.
