This is my second time through IWDII. The first time through the game, I had no problems with mouse control. Now, if I load it fresh upon system startup, it playes fine. However, if I quit and come back to start it up, I've got tremendous lag with my mouse from the very first intro screen. I have to do a reboot of my system and then it plays fine, until I have to save and quit again. Really weird... any ideas?

I haven't experienced this with IWDII, but i have had similar problems with other programs. I have compuserve and when I shut it down and run other programs, they always run slow. It seemed I always had to restart after using compuserve. One solution I found works pretty well most of the time is to cut down the number of programs running in the background. I try to keep my system resources running at around 93% or above free.
I run Windows ME, so I do a start>run>msconfig. I click on the startup tab and clear everything except systray and explorer.
In ME, you can see how much you have running in the background by doing a cntrl+alt+del. Not sure how to do it on other versions of windows. Maybe someone else can help with that part.

Heh... I've got ME too. I wonder why it happens at all? I've not had problems with any other games. I usually have ICQ running, am in SP, Outlook is open and mIRC is usually running as well. Although I tried shutting down Outlook...it made no difference. I'll try shutting everything else down too. Thanks.
