Did anyone see John Kerry on "The Daily Show" last night?

[IMG] "The Daily Show" with Jon Stewart is on Comedy Central from 2300-2330 weekdays. Last night, Jon's guest was John Kerry. Although I've already decided to vote for him as the "not George W. Bush" candidate, I was actually impressed that he would come onto a cable fake news show on a comedy network.

He seems like a pretty down to earth guy, he has a sense of humor about all the political mudslinging going on, and I get the impression he knows where the country needs to go.

He basically stuck to his convention speech points: get America back to work, fix health care, resarch viable alternatives to oil, and making better decisions on when and how to deploy our troops.

Jon Stewart even asked him point blank about whether or not he flip flops on issues. He admitted that he has on occasions!!! But he said that in many of the situations, he's made changes to his stance based on new information, or changes in situations that required flexibility. Overall, I was more impressed with his 15 minutes on the Daily Show than I have been with his whole campaign thus far!

    I hope he can beat Bush! I don't think I can take 4 more years of him...And I'm a Republican!!(well, mostly) ;)

    One last thing...

If you're an American of voting age that's not registered reading this post: GET REGISTERED! AND VOTE!!

This may be America's most important election in recent history! There are many things at stake: at least 3 Supreme Court seats, continuing of the Patriot Act, the Dismantling of our Intelligence Community, and international reputation, and numerous economic and foreign policy issues!

This election may even be closer than the 2000 election, and EVERYONE needs to get out and vote!!!

Thus endeth the Wednesday morning rant. ;)

Crap! I posted in Sorcerous Sundries by mistake...Please move me to the The Alley!!!!

Generally all politicians tend to do really well on talk-shows. I know I have been rather impressed by people I thought I didnt like and almost blown away by some I already kinda liked. A talkshow is a form where a politician can talk calmly without making soundbites and where they can explain what they mean exactly with what they say.

I think the more important part of the interview was this:

But I will grant you this, Sir Bel:

Yeah, in NZ, there was on politician who got a seat in parliament purely on the back of one gimmicky TV debate in which he was particularly articulate. Unfortunately, if you own the TV emotions, you're more than halfway there.

I loved the part when Jon stared down Kerry and then Kerry did the same back. That was the best "lame moment" i've seen on D.S. with Jon and a guest. Good ol' Kerry - charisma out the wazoo! ;)

    Clinton did MUCH better.
