    Trivia item:

In HoF mode, Nathaniel's Ring of the Ram allows you to cast Dimension Door 1/day. I'm not sure if this is a bug or something caused by Ease of Use mods, but much like Teleport Without Error, Dimension Door is a cool spell that normally only NPCs get to cast.

Unfortunately, it doesn't let you teleport through walls. Also, the script for Sseth's Eye is apparently based on intent-to-move, not physical proximity, so if you try to Dimension Door past the Eye you will be immediately repelled before you even cast the spell. You can use the spell tactically but it doesn't let you skip portions of the game, so it's too bad you can't cast the spell normally.

...that being surrounded by enemies can block you from being affected by your bard's singing? Enemies appear to act as walls in some cases. This could be important if you rely on War Song of the Sith for DR/AC.

That's certainly odd. You sure that the character just wasn't out of range of the bard song?

Yep. He was surrounded by yetis outside the monastery, and I kept moving the bard closer and closer (even into throwing-axe range) to no effect. After several rounds a hole finally opened up big enough that my decoy could retreat through the yetis a tiny bit, so he wasn't surrounded, and then the bard song finally was able to affect him.

Wow. That really is strange, Max. Of course, I would probably almost never have that situation happen to me, because I make such a major effort to hold my party formation and not let anyone get surrounded and overwhelmed.

Are you sure it was the *enemies* that blocked the song? I know of personal experience that it's especially picky on line of sight issues and that supposed height differences can sometimes block it too.

In the specific case of monastery and yetis: If your bard and/or decoy was on the bridge, I could imagine there being several possible combinations of spots to stand on blocking line of sight, no matter if there's monsters or not.

Height differences? I can tell you that the decoy was standing just off the end of the bridge, and the bard was close to the end of the bridge. I think the decoy may have retreated onto the bridge when he finally broke free. Would that be a height difference?

Obviously I'm not 100% sure that it was the enemies blocking the song, since you never can be sure about empirically-gathered evidence, you just make guesses and test them as best you can. Perhaps it was this height thing you mention.
