[IMG] I want to divide up my harddisk in two and I am wondering if anyone here know any shareware or freeware programs to do this with. Also where I would find them would be helpful.

It depends on what you want to do:
-If go for <format c:> anyway, then fdisk will work just fine (it did for me).
-If you want to change partitions without reinstalling your computer particion magic will work just fine, though I don't know where to get that and wether it is free- or shareware or not. However, even then it *can* be hairy, so make backups of your pretious files before ;)

partition magic 7.0. It's the best, but it's not free.

That's ok Tal, but no one wasn't either, I was asking for share or freeware, and that's legal, right....

On the topic I've been talking to some guys at school and I am going to buy Particion magic as it looks like it is the only alternative if I don't want to delete everything on my harddisk.

turambar you can use fips to divide and conquer your harddisk without deleting stuff. Just make sure you defrag first. And it's freeware.

[IMG] hehe fdisk is incredibly crude. Unless, of course you're talking about the linux fdisk which is an amazing tool. ;)

[IMG] Turambar, I don't edit posts for nothing. kevlar named a warez site in his original post. I edited that part out, obviously.

My friend lost everything on one of his disks because of Partision Magic. He let the machine do the partisioning alone, and when he came back the program had stopped half way through and everything on the disk was lost.

    [IMG] Ahhhh.... sorry about that.

And sure you have to know what your're doing when using partition magic, but still it is a good idea to make copies of everything important before you start it.
