[IMG] I am trying to install my old worn copy of BG2 here with the help of a borrowed CD1 from a friend while waiting for my new fresh copy. Something strange happens though, the installer asks for disk5. As far as I know there is no disk5 for BG2. Anyone have any ideas?

You are one fast dude Splunge. I had never heard of this error before and I thought I was unique.

I had the same problem when I tried to install. I went so far as to take the game back to the vendor and asking them what the hell they did with disk 5 (although I was a bit more polite than that). :shake:

Hehe, it was an issue with multiple CD drives. The problem is that my borrowed CD is a CD image which only exists as a file and is run from a fake cd-drive. So now I have to make images of all the disks it seems. I could just wait for my copy to arrive but I have been working to get my hands on this freaking game for a month now!

I'm guessing whoever burned that image didn't do it right. You burn CD image (ISO 9660) files differently than you do regular files. If you burn the ISO file using the proper settings, you end up with a CD that looks like the original CD, not a CD with the image file burned on it.

Actually he sent the image to me through icq and there was no problem with that one. The problems started when I put in my tangiable CD's in the CD-drive and and the installer went through 2-4 in a rush without loading anything from them before finally asking for disk5. He had to make an image of his CD3 as well as my CD3 was for some reason corrupted so I couldnt make an image of it myself.

Of course I could just wait two more days for my copy to arrive but I have been waiting for a month and school begins on monday and I would like some gaming done before that.

I am a bit worried about my CD drive though, it is old and it isnt good. It have been having problem with many of my older disks. It is a remnant from two upgrades I think and is getting dated.

Wohoo! Got it to work! Now I can put my proper copy on the shelf for the time being in mint condition looking good and ready for use after my next system crash! :D

Struggling with the improved Illych in the tactics mod now. That is one tough battle. I think I am getting the hang of it though. Will beat that silly dwarf first thing in the morning!
